Can you please tell me what kind of machine you have and were you get it serviced. I have a Pfaff 2140 and I took it to AAA Sewing and Vacuum and he said it would cost around $250. That is to have it cleaned and fix a couple of minor things. Is this what I can expect anywhere. That just kills me. I sit there and think I could buy a cheap machine every time I get it serviced. If you have had it done cheaper, please let me know where. Thanks.

WOW, have you checked on Google?? I get my Bernina 1530 serviced for around $69. It is not a Bernina dealership but a privately own sewing machine and vacuum service.

Wow, $250 seems excessive for cleaning and small repairs. I had my 1031 (granted mine's mechanical, not computerized) done 3 years ago by the serviceman in Newport News, VA, who trains Bernina techs all over the USA, for less than half that. I'd make the 3+ hour drive to take any of my machines back to him. Occasionally he receives machines from servicemen/dealers who can't resolve problems on machines customers have brought to them.

I had my Pfaff 2134 cleaned late this summer at the shop where I bought it for about $70. When I took it in, I was having a tension problem and that had never happened before so I was quite concerned. They decided to just do a good cleaning first to see if that would resolve the problem and it did. Besides that, I mentioned that I had signed up for a class through my guild with a nationally known instructor that I would probably miss since it was only a few days away. They called the next day to say it was ready to be picked up! I was so pleased with their great service. Since you live in such a large city, I would just keep contacting Pfaff dealers to find a better price. That seems high to me. Good luck

I am not from Denver but I have my Janome 6600 cleaned and any minor repairs done at the place I purchased my machine for $60.00. They are very good and thorough. I feel $250.00 is quite expensive. Good luck in your research.

I would ask a few people in a guild near you.

I only pay about $70 for a standard cleaning and maintenance visit.....but....repairs are extra.....and it really isn't fair for us to say the $250 charge is too much when we don't know what repairs were made or if they had to put in new parts....sometimes those new parts are pretty pricey!

Dreaming, I haven't had a machine really serviced, but a few years ago I had a problem with a Singer and toke it to Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vaccum on South Parker Road. The elderly gentleman knew right away what was wrong.. and fixed it in minutes. Charged me $5.
give them a call 720 870-2711 They are located at Araphhoe Crossing on the North end Good luck
