    Huh! Those do seem rather vague and not just allowing for creativity! At least it should tell your the finished size of the block. Did it have a layout pattern so you could see how many blocks across and rows down? That, with the total size of the quilt would allow you to do math to figure block size. But can understand your frustration! A poorly written pattern or kit really can be a big turn-off to quilting--I'd suggest you but it aside for that day that you want a big challenge and find one that you like. love Denise S' stuff but haven't used any of her patterns.

    Lol! I am not new and I want detailed instructions! Welcome to this board. It is wonderful and very helpful. Make use of the tutorials..great advice found there and lots of members are ready to offer help when you get stuck or have a question. Remember, there is no such thing as a dumb question!!!!

    I'm with you 100% Nothing sucks more than to find a beautiful pattern (as a beginner and not so new beginner) to open a pattern and t says "now sandwich your quilt and quilt as desired". Ahhhhhh Yep, I needed more directions than that. Depending on how new your are, have you tried to find a class locally or online??

    When I scrolled down the list of her patterns there were several free patterns. Download one of those and see how well she explains things.
