I have have attempted my own design for a quilt for a half bed. Everything went well, with the top. But when I started to put the batting and backing together, somehow it is now 1/2 inch off on one side. I was tempted to just cut off the 1/2 inch. I have been particular about making sure everything was right, this has never happened in the past. How did it happen that it is now off by that 1/2 inch? Can anyone please help me figure this out? Thanks for your time.

Tiny differences get magnified over the length/width of quilt, or something gets stretched. It happens, :XD:
Sometimes you can adjust a seam on the too long side to correct, sometimes you cut , and sometimes you can cheat in the differeance when assembling. Sometimes you learn to love the quirkiness.
There are as many fixes in quilting as there are issues.
