Designer Quilt boards
#23
A friend on another forum put a rod on the wall to hang one of her quilts on. Then she cut a piece of flannel the size of the quilt and attached it behind the quilt. When she needs the design wall, she flips the flannel to the front. When she isn't using it, there is a beautiful quilt there. I thought that was a neat idea!

The response to the designer quilt wall has been great. I think if I take bits and pieces from each reply I should
have the most sensational designer wall that was ever made.
I know now from all the replys that I won't order one cause
you just don't know what you are getting. Thank you everyone
and hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did.

I have used the tablecloth idea, it worked fine. But had to use a good coupon from joAnns, so I bought the Fon's and Porter design wall. I do like it, but wall space was not an issue, so i can leave it hang all the time. Quilters do have some great ideas.

I bought 2 sheets of large insulation boards from Home Depot. DH had to cut about 6 inches off one end of both. They were two tall for my sewing room. I tapped them together and I use that for my quilting board and I also sandwich my quilt on that board and spray baste it for quilting.

I went to Home Depot and got a piece of insulation for about $15 and wrapped it with a queen size batting, I used duct tape to secure it on the back then screwed that bad boy right to my wall with drywall screws. Hubby wasn't jumping up and down that I did that but we aren't moving and neither is my design wall. :D
