What is a desk needle threader? Is that different from other needle threaders?

A desk needle threader is one that sits on your table, lap, chair arm etc.
your drop your needle eye down a hole, lay your thread across the indicated place, hold thread gentley and push lever. Like magic needle is threaded. Clover makes one put you must use oval shaped eye. There is one at JoAnns that takes any needle and is much cheaper. I have both and both work just fine.

At the moment till I have my eye op (Now 29th Jan) I have been using some special needles, the are called self threading needles. They have a hook type eye at the top of the needle where you place your thread and then pull your thread. The thread then slides through a non return piece inside the needle and voila its threaded.
It has truly stopped me going mad. they are very good and come in all different sizes. If you would like more info let me know.

I have one of those needle threaders too and I learned something the hard way. Hold your finger over the top of the needle when you are threading it...it can flip out and fly across the room...then I find them with my bare feet... But I love that thing!!

Elle..I've seen those needles and they do work great. What kind of eye op are you having to go through? Kisses to you and wishing you luck!!
