Default Desperately need help with new machine

I again need to ask for help with my new Viking Sapphire 930 machine. You all helped me find FMQ but now I’m having trouble getting back to straight stitching. I just can’t seem to understand the manual instructions. The machine says “Straight stitching” but fabric won’t move. The feed dogs are up but the fabric won’t move. I’m close to finishing a quilt that is a Christmas gift for a special friend. You helped me the last time I was stuck but even my making notes isn’t helping. Can somebody help again. I’m so stuck with projects backed up.
    Thanks so much. Pat

Are you sure the feed dogs are up?

Do whatever you need to do again to lower and raise them again?

Do you have a bobbin winder with a bobbin in it? (One of my machines won't move then.)

I agree with what Bear suggested. Plus, try turning the machine off, leave it off for 30 - 60 sec and turn it back on. Sometimes that resets things or applies the changes you've made.

Around page 32 of your manual, it talks about the Set menu. Go to the second page of the menu (click the little downward pointing triangle at the bottom of the first menu page)
Make sure that "FreeM Floating" and "FreeM Spring Action" are both Unchecked.

Thank you, PaperPrincess so much. Boy, do I feel dumb. I unchecked one of the FMQ spots & that fixed it. You can bet I wrote myself a good note on that. I’ve lost a few days trying to figure it out. Thank you so much to the people who responded with help.

Is your stitch length set at 0? That may be why the feed dogs don't move.
