Did Gingher stop making scissors?

After reading this post, I checked my Gingers....made in Mexico! I bought them about five years ago, and I love them! They are such a treat to use. Prior to that, I used a pair of Wiss scissors and a pair of Wiss pinkers. They both still work well and they are about 40 years old. I also have two pair of Mundial, but I don't consider them "good" scissors. When I worked in a fabric store years ago, we often times sold them in sets of three sizes for next-to-nothing.

Anyone heard of Mundial scissors? I acquired a left-handed pair from the former owner of the shop I owned in TX a decade ago. They were used often at our cutting stations when the rotary cutters were not the right tool. The Mundial brand looks almost exactly like Ginghers and is sold at this knife site in what they call their Brazil series.
Good information on how the scissors are made and all reviewers give them 5 stars.

I have just spoken with a representative from Gingher. Fiskar did buy the company out some time ago.
Gingher was a privately held company. The rep told me that there are two weights of Gingher scissors now. The all metal ones are forged in Italy. Whatever the others are made of are made in Taiwan. The country of origin (not the words distributed by) is marked on the scissor. If you have a question about your Ginghers, you can contact the company by calling the 800 number listed on the Website. Gingher warranties are still in full force. You can find out about them on the Website or by phone. The Gingher Website and the phone contact are among the easiest to navigate that I have dealt with. froggyintexas

Guess I'm definitely taking better care of mine ✂️ and keeping them sharp. Time ⏰ to make the scrappy scissor guards I saw on a blog. Also glad I have them in a lot of sizes. Thanks for the heads up.
