Did I buy the wrong pellon for placemats?

I have used warm and natural batting or fleece and both have given me great results.

I was advised to use Insul-Bright by one LQS - same principle. These products provide a little extra protection for your furniture if you are going to be putting anything hot on the mats.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll just forget using the pellon and save it for making totes.

Why don't you try a small sample one, say the size of a mug rug so you can see how it performs?

We usually recommend Insulbrite, used with the heat-reflective side up, for the reason that it provides a bit of protection for your table in case you can place hot coffee cups or plates on the mats. We like it for table-runners as well, for the same reason.
