Yes, it was a raffle quilt to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. It was the best quilt I’ve ever made. There was also a lot of love & emotion involved in it. Here is a link – it’s the only picture I have of the quilt or I would have posted it without my Dad & I in it. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-121211-1.htm

Four years ago I made a quilt for a fundraiser auction that I liked so well by the time I finished that I made sure I won that auction!
I had told others about the pattern, which fit the theme of the fundraiser, so I couldn't NOT take it. :-)

Fabraholic .... your cat quilt is incredible!! I'm not sure I could have given that one away, after all that work.

For sure, you should borrow it back and enter it in shows.

I know the feeling ... I gave one last year as a wedding give that I liked a lot. At the time I had not thoughts of entering it, and then, suddenly I thought, well yes!

So I asked if I could repossess it ... they were thrilled. Even more so, when they found out that their quilt was a Red Ribbon Winner, which here in Canada means it stood first! :) As for me ... first time entering, and did it more for the achievement of entering and when I walked in and saw the ribbon, I started to shake and cry ... can you tell I was shocked?

No wonder you regret giving away your cat quilt. It's gorgeous ( and I am a dog person ).

Yes, One I made for a raffle....really, really liked that particular quilt.
Well, the lady who won the raffle only bought tickets because the money was going for a great cause and it ends up that she said she was not a quilt type person (go figure), she then presented it back to me as a gift.
I told her she could not give away her quilt, her reply was "it was her quilt now and she coul do any thing she wanted with it." So I accepted it with a big smile.

You can easily make it again if it is that well - liked?
