    Have you considered asking your SIL if you could borrow the quilt back to put in a show. I did that. I made a double wedding ring for my sister who was getting married after 31 years as a widow. The next summer I borrowed the quilt back to put in our state quilt show. She was honored to have her quilt in a show.

    Oh my! I can see why you would want that back. Not sure I could have parted with it in the first place. I haven't made that many quilts so, no, I've never made one that I wanted back.

    My sister and I made only one quilt together. It was for a toothpick convention. It was not too great but we had so much fun planning it, picking out the fabric. We did pictures, applique and sashing and everything. She went ahead and auctioned it but we have had regrets since. I sure hope it is appreciated.

    Janet that quilt is just beautiful. What a lovely gift for your Mom, I am sure she loved it so much. I understand your feelings, I would most likely have done the same thing. Since you have pics of it you can always make another one for yourself.
