Ironically I just commented in another thread about finishing a quilt that I was less than enthused about. If it was not a gift .. I never would have finished it .... It was such dudgery to work on it. I did not pick the pattern , or fabrics... and to me it was just plain BORING. It sat for a few weeks after having been quilted ... as I just didn't want to look at it to put the binding on.
Needless to say I am Glad its OVER!!!

That pretty much says it all.

I've had to do some that were high contrast and they were so hard to work on. One of them I ended up really liking but the others - not so much.

Yes, I have made a lap quilt size, probably my first real quilt about 3 yrs ago. I totally dislike it! Blue and Yellow is the main colors, a very pretty quilt and very nice, points all meet, etc, but I don't like it. Cost me a pretty penny in material. My good friend commented she would like to buy it from me. She loves it. So come her birthday guess what she is getting?

I've had two like that recently and I had to force myself to finish them. On both of them I chose a backing that I really like. One of the quilts was for me, just a lap throw. I just generally leave it with the backing up! The second one is one for my son that I'm working on now. The only reason it is going to be finished is because it's for Christmas.
