I am learning how to appliqué by teaching myself. I took a class, was very unhappy with it, so now I am going to teach myself for awhile. Some books/patterns I read say use a blanket stitch and others say use a button hole stitch. From the pictures they look the same. My machine is a very basic machine so it doesn't do a blanket stitch so I can't see for it myself. What is the difference between the two?

This link above is a good one to show the difference in the two.

    Hope it helps,
