difference between mug rug and coaster

A mug rug or mug mat are like a mini placemat for coffee and maybe a snack. Basically the same as a coaster, sort of. :) It's fun to make the mat and have a mug that matches for example snowman on both.

aren't the rugs about 5"x7" size and the coasters square 3 1/2"?

Whatever they are they look so cute when others post them. Someone is selling some now too. I want to learn how to do the coffee wrappers and the scissor holders. Maybe now I have time. Thanks for sharing
