Both my sis and I have done both methods. The method we used of Bethany Reynolds was to cut strips then squares from the strips. Then the squarres were cut in half. Each half made a block----sort of a spinning thing. We had to use a backgound fabric to complete the blocks. Personally I like the one block wonder method the best.

It takes a lot more fabric for stack and whack because you fussie cut the blocks. One block wonder uses all the fabric.

Check out Buggy Barn's Crazy style quilts. These are stacked and cut also, but nothing like these posts have described.

Cutebuns: I'd be interested in doing a sew along. Or has it already been done? Just noticed your posting date.

I have done both. Stack and Whack you layer 6 layers of fabric in exactly the same place and fussy cut your blocks so that the stars are all different and then you can put them together in what ever way you want. One Block Wonders you layer your fabric also but you cut your pieces all the way across the width of the fabric and the six layers give you a star but you don't know how they will turn out as you go all the way across. Also when you put them together you only sew the stars into two half sections and put it together in angled strips rather than making each star independly. You have to work on a wall to see what they will look like. I think Stack and Whack would be easier to start.

Thank you Danni for the links - after seeing the posting date, I figured it had been done.

I'd join the OBW class.Seems to be a lot of interest & having a "leader"
    sounds great.

I hope to help some get over it.
