All the quilts w 3 colors or 3 fabrics are beautiful. It is amazing how different they all look yet they are the same pattern

I just posted a picture and am going to see if I can do it in a Reply, as well as a Start new topic. Okay, I have to try two pictures, just to see if I can do that too.

I've made a D9P using only three fabrics. I don't think it's on the QB because it's been a long time. It really came out nice. I used a focus fabric (cardinals) in the four corners with a burgandy center block and four green leaf corners for the remaining four positions. All I did was flip flop two opposing corners giving the look of little burgandy butterflies spaced around. I'll check (when I learn) to see if my cardinal D9P is in the pictures section.

I like how this turned out. Now I am inspired to try it.

I can see the pictures from the "reply" but not on the original posting. Does anyone know why?

Default Wine themed throw quilt, one 16x16 block and 3 fabrics

Yes, and the perfect place to make your pattern is at the Quilt Pattern Playground http://www.freequiltpatterns.info/cu...playground.php. You can alter the block and border measurements so that the finished size is equal the size of the batting, if that's an issue. Here's my latest, a wine country theme I made as a hostess gift for our dear friends who live on Costa del Sol in Spain. We visited them this past summer and I wanted to leave something special behind to thank them for their hospitality. It has only 3 fabrics and one block, repeated 9 times with a border. This was also my first attempt at free motion quilting. It was much more difficult to achieve the roundness of the "feathers" than I thought, but turned out so nice, I'm working on another for myself! BTW, they LOVED it!!

Your quilt is one of the best I have seen, including my own. The picture came out great. Like the hanging rod too.
