Disappearing pencil won't disappear!
#1
I have an issue that I am hoping you talented ladies can help me with. I marked a small section of my quilt top; brown 100% cotton fabric (I did not prewash my fabric) with one of those disappearing white pencils. Well it didn’t disappear! I had saved the packaging and it says to clean it with clear water if necessary. I have done that repeatedly with no success. Okay, now what? Help?

I have a purple one that is supposed to disappear with a damp cloth... When i tested it I markd heavy..(was goign to use it on a weddding dress so I had to make sure!!) and it took a couple of dabbing at it and much wetter than "damp" but it came out.. but a weddign dress.... decided to go a different route!
Also have a blue one that disappears in a few hours just to air... so far it has worked... but I really test these things out....

contact the company for tips and expert help.
it is very important to 'test' any marking tool EVERY TIME you want to use it...it might work on *this project* and not come out of the next one...always test.
good luck

I was at a lecture the other night, and the woman said that you should always pre-wash the fabric before using a disappearing marking pen/pencil. Some chemicals in the fabric will react differently with the ink causing some of it to remain in the fabric. For example, the blue ink will turn brown on some fabrics after it has tried to be removed.
