    could you have asked for a swatch of the fabric to see if it was a near matchup??

    Try using the back side of the fabric! I received some yellow fabric from an online store recently that turned out to be way to bright for my tastes, but the back-side is a much softer color.

    I buy on line all the time. However, if possible, I go the the manufacturers website Seem picture is better quality there.

    10 years of buying on line and no disappointments. Just remember that there are "millions" of shades of aqua!

    awh so sorry to hear that. Ive only ordered once threw a magazine they sent and I love the fabric I bought. I just used some of it in my Star tablerunner I posted today.

    I buy for my stash, seldom for a specific project. Only once was I disappointed with the quality of a piece of fabric, and the ebay seller refunded my money immediately. I now give her a good bit of business! Occasionally the colors aren't what I thought they would be, but that can be a happy accident.

    Actually I'm the one sending the swatch TO the shop but that's a very good idea to ask for a swatch FROM the shop. Not sure they would do that though?!?!

    I have bought quite a bit of fabric online and have only been unhappy a couple of times. These were flannel panels and when washed they were a mess!! I spend hours trying to straighten them and finally added a wide border and squared it up that way. Given that I paid LQS prices for the panels and I was on a deadline to finish, I just made do.
