Lightbulb Disconneact thread cutter on foot pedal

I have a Juki TL 2000 and want to disconnect the thread cutter feature on the foot pedal. Can any of you advise me on how to do this?
if I can not disconnect then is there a part or way I could block this feature on the pedal?
    thanks

Not much help, but I will say once I got used to having the thread cutter on the pedal, I struggle with sewing on any other machine. That is one of the best features of my Juki, imho. But it does take a little bit to get used to.

Sorry, no help here either. Your question reminded me of a time when I had to take my regular machine to the doctor for a checkup. For a short time I had to use the backup machine. I almost panicked when I got to the end of the seam and there was no cutter button. "How am I supposed to cut that thread????" .....and then I laughed out loud and hit myself in the forehead. Use scissors, dummy! We do get used to our tools. I wonder why you don't like to use this feature.

I was never able to get used to the thread cutter on the pedal of my TL2010Q. After a few days of unintentionally cutting threads, I turned my pedal 180 degrees, and have been sewing that way ever since.

I'm sometimes tempted to give it another try though LOL

I have this on my Juki 2010. Emailed the juki support and they said no way to disconnect the thread cutter, but they gave me a part # 40165358. you can purchase it from your juki dealer. it is a rubber stopper for the pedal so that the thread cutter on the pedal will not work.

I love the thread cutter on the Juki. That's just one of the many reasons I bought the machine a month or so ago. My dog doesn't like it though. It is a little noisy, so when she hears the slapping of metal on metal, she goes upstairs till she doesn't hear "Joe" sewing anymore. Check with your Juki dealer and see what he says.

Sometimes I have a brain blip and accidentally press my heel on foot pedal and cut the threads mid-seam. That is when I want to disconnect this feature, but when I use the cutter on purpose, I love the feature. Brain blips happening more often as I get older !!

Keep working with it. Like some of the others, it's my favorite feature of the machine. Occasionally I will accidently cut when I don't mean to but it is oh so wonderful. You could perhaps try to position your foot farther back off the pedal. Maybe you are choking up on it. Just a thought.

I have a Janome 6500P that has a thread cutter and I almost never use it. Why? Because it cuts the thread so short that I have to use tweezers to get a hold of it again before starting to sew. That is a pain in my backside!!

One of my Janome machines has a thread cutter and the other doesn't. I almost only use the one with the cutter. It cuts the thread really short and I never have to pull the thread before starting to sew again. I just start up sewing with how the machine cut it. If I ever get a new machine the thread cutter feature is one I would look for. I love it.
