just got new Iron and it says tap water only, but I bet they think everyone lives in the city and not out in the country with well water. I am going to start bringing home a milk jug of city water from work and see if that helps.

Does anyone know why an iron company says don't use distilled water?

I live in the country, have well water that is hard and no problems with rust in Rowenta. 'Course, mine is at least 15 years old. Maybe older is better!

I have a Rowenta and the directions say NOT to use distilled water. I keep water in mine at all times and have no problems with leaking .... yet, crossing my fingers that it won't.
