I really like this variation. I will have to try it this year. Thanks for sharing.
I made a DNP variation using the tute from the site below. It was easy and would look really nice using your 2 color blocks.

I have been collecting novelty fabric to make a Man's quilt in 2014. I want to make it D9P as I have become 9P obsessed. The first block I can truly make. LOL( thanks to Pat Sloan's I can't believing I'm quilting book). I am wondering what size should I cut the blocks?
I will be putting the novelty fabric in the corners so they wont be cut.
