I made one using an old scanner. Bought a couple of those battery operated closet neon lights. it works ok. Then I came up with a better solution. I set a flashlight on its end in a trash can. And put a piece of glass over the top. But I like my dear friend's "real" light box the best!

I use my machine table. I put a piece of plexiglass over the machine opening and a small flourescent bar where my machine would sit. Works like a charm

I still use the window/sunlight method. I tape the picture to the window then the fabric on top of it. One of theses days I want to make a homemade box.

I have a small light box I use for small crafting. For large things, I have a 46" round glasstop dining room table. I place a small desk lamp which has a swivel neck under the table with the light pointing up. It is a great light box. Use it more that I do the small one.

I did the same thing with a glass top end table and a lamp.

What great ideas for making light boxes - I have a couple of old drawers in the garage - I now know what I will be using them for.
    Thanks

Haven't tried it, but it sounds like it would work although not portable at all!
    That is a great idea

Mine is something similar - and also the patio glass door (in daylight hours).
