Do buy quilt kits?
#11
I have gotten a few over the last 10 years. One I have finished the top and waiting to quilt it. The other actually had all the pieces cut. I have it laid out, but have not sewed it. I am one that tends to get the pattern if I like it and then get the fabric. I then get to create my own kits that end up in my to do pile :D

I have never thought of buying a kit, but, with all the trouble I have visualizing an end product, selecting fabric, and deciding on a pattern, this might be what I should do next. Food for thought...for me at least.

I just bought a kit. I probably could have collected the fabric from different stores but this way everything was there. There was one fabric that I hadn't seen in the LQS and I didn't think I could find it so that cinched the purchase.

The only couple of quilt kits I bought were Kaffe Fassett ones. The stores that sell them put together fThe fabrics for quilts in his books. They cut the same fabric and yardage stated in the books pattern. I dont really consider them kits, just saves me from shopping online and listing all the fabrics called for. His quilts call for so many fabrics. The store saves me from that chore.
