    I would definitely use bias binding. Another thing I would do is put a line of stitching around the edge where you cut the ends off the table toppers before you cut the ends off. This will stabilize the table toppers and hold the layers together and make it much easier to apply the new binding.

    Ditto from me too. You need bias binding so that it will adjust to the curve of the oval.
