I pass mine on to my Amish friends to use on their small projects.

I save mine and use it for making sandwiches for fmq or for small wallhangings, table runners. If I need large pieces I just zigzag some together.

Yes, I keep the larger scraps. You can put them together to
    make pot holders as gifts.

I used leftovers for padding in iPod cases, mini-quilts and Christmas decorations and keep them all in one of those clear plastic bags that you use a vacuum to suck the air out of. Really cuts down on the bulk.

I only save the large pieces cut off the bottom of a quilt. As long as its large enough to do something with. The strips cut off the top and sides I toss, too small to do anything with and only clutters up my sewing room.

Quick answer is yes, and I do manage to use them. The biggest challenge is when I have multiple scraps that are different kinds, brand, content. That makes it hard to use the tape or to simply zig-zag them together.

I keep all of mine, I try to use every scrap. I also zig zag them together for future use.

I keep the scraps in a plastic tub, large and small. Sometimes the pieces are the perfect size for table runners, placemats, and even baby quilts. I will piece them together with a large zig-zag stitch, after cutting a straight line with a used rotary cutter, which is used only for cutting backing and I have used blades that were perhaps too dull to cut fabric, but they will cut the batting. You can always use the small pieces for doll quilts, pot holders, etc.
