    I also do it this way. I don't mind sewing the binding on by hand, it's relazing, but does take time.

    I machine stitch. I don't enjoy hand work and I don't care for the look of hand stitched bindings. I go back to front as long as there is a border because that is the look I like. I think the binding is the final border. IF there is no border I go front to back so as not to change the shape of the edge blocks.

    I machine stitch RS to the front but than hand stitch to the back..........I like the feel of the fabric

    I machine stitch it to the front then fold it over and hand stitch to the backing, pretty much my favorite part other than piecing the front. I find it relaxing and it gives me something to do when I can't or don't feel like being at my sewing machine. SANDWICHING..... that is my NEMESIS!!!!!!

    I machine the binding all the way. That is why I have nice equipment , so I don't have to hand sew much.
