I machine stitch almost all of my bindings....but there are a lot of folks on the Board who handstitch the back after sewing the front on by machine. And, I suppose, a lot of them who still do it all by hand...

I machine stitch the binding to the front and turn the binding to the back and hand stitch. Putting the binding on is one of my favorites because it means my quilt is finally done

Machine binding is all I do. Hand binding makes my hands hurt like crazy, takes me months (because my hands hurt so much) and come out awful. I'm getting pretty good at machine binding and it goes so fast!

I machine everything else so why not the binding. Sometimes I stitch the binding onto the back and bring it around to the front and then machine stitch and other times I stitch the binding to the front - as is usual - and machine stitch down on the back. Either way I am happy with the result and know that it is going to stay stitched no matter what.

I guess I'm the odd one out. I stitch the binding to the back and bring it around to the front to stitch by machine. If doing the final step by hand then I stitch it to the front and hand stitch on the back. I do about half my quilts by machine and half by hand depending on which seems right at the time.

I machine stitch every portion of my bindings. I can get better and more consistant tension of the threads and more stitches per inch.

I just machine stitched my first quilt of any size (twin)...I may NEVER machine stitch binding again! LOL. How many different ways can you say uh oh... Machine on front, hand on back is more my style!
