    I have worked with this fabric, i washed several times and it got softer and dulled the sparkles. Give it a try.

    The fabric is perfect for your Dresden.

    Have you pre-washed the butterfly fabric yet? If not, you might like the texture more after you wash it.

    I love the quilt BTW!! That butterfly fabric is perfect.

    The butterflies look great for the fussy cut centers. Then use it for sashing or even for the binding... I love the dresden block & the sparkly butterfly fabric.

    I should think that it would lose some of the sparkle after its washed also. It looks to match perfectly colorwise.

    If you don't like it then I suggest you don't use it as you will remain unhappy. However, I personally like it as it gives a lift to the rather soft colours in the Dresden designs that you are trying to match and it gives it a bit of 'oomph'.
