I use the leather thimble. The regular thimbles won't stay on my fingers (have small fingers)

I'm 82 and I definitely use a thimble. I was taught to use one in 4-h. Also my Aunty was a professional seamstress and she helped me to learn to sew.

Yes, I use a thimble to sew on binding, doing applique, and red work. Love my little silver thimble.

I do and I am less than 65 yrs. old. I just got tired of the bloody holes in my finger. Took some getting use to and I started with a leather one.

I used to use a silver thimble, but then I stopped biting my fingernails. I found my nail breaking a lot when it would bend inside the thimble. Now, I use a leather thimble with an opening for my fingernail. :) I really like it.

I use a thimble, my fingers are to tender not to. I tried to use my nail but the needle slipped and went under the nail. I also am well under 65.

I have always used a thimble. I learned to use one when my mother taught me to embroider as a child. That was interesting...my mom's large thimble on my child's hand. Later, somewhere we found a small thimble that fit me. I got so used to it I can't hand sew without one. I just doesn't feel natural to me. I also use it when I do counted cross stitch.

Yes, I use a thimble. An old-style silver one.

I have never been able to use a metal thimble, but I do use a leather thimble...the goatskin one is the one I like the best...it is double thick. Elaine Considine is the one who makes the ones that I get.
