I just love my table runners and use them all the time on my diningroom table and on my kitchen table! I have been in on the summer tablerunner swap and have had endless enjoyment looking at the tablerunner from my very first swap.I feel my tables look naked without the runners!!

I love the table runners however I have no table to put them on as we live with our DD. We made her 2 car garage into a studio apartment for DH and myself.

Nope! Wall hanging would probably fare better but a lap quilt 50x60 would be used and displayed.

I love tablerunners but unfortunetly, they wind up on the floor most of the time. I have 2 cats who love to *clear* the table. Even the lazy susan that is supposed to sit on the table spends most of it's time on the floor. Darn cats...
    I love placemats too.

Well, yes, my original question was about whether it was practical to make and give quilted tablerunners as gifts.. whether as a rule people did or didn't actually use them.
