    Yes, I backstitch. Habit, I guess as I sewed clothes for many years before quilting. I even backstitch when I chain stitch!

    I shorten my stitches just a bit when chain piecing, that way the ends stay put through pressing and final assembly.

    I always backstitch when piecing my blocks.
    At the start and end of each seam.
    I don't have to worry about any seams coming apart.

    I backstitch as well. Had too many seams start to come apart on me when I first started quilting. Now it just seems to be a habit.
