I did a round robin a while back and loved it. I challenged myself to try new techiniques for ever round and was really pleased with how each border turned out. I don't normally do piecing--mostly applique but these blocks just cried out for pieced borders so I attempted it. Everyone had nice comments about their tops once the swap was over and they got their blocks back. What did surprise me was how much time it took. I was also working at the time. But it was a great experience.

One of the things I love best about this site is the support you get from everyone. I am a newbie compared to a lot of the wonderful quilters here, but they are always supportive and have wonderful things to say. I love the quilt block exchanges. They are so much fun.

Am thinking about joining one of the swaps to get out of the box. Have
been quilting since 1997. But I don't feel like a quilter. There is too
much that's new, especially to me. Guess what I do is like my Mom and
Grandmother did. I need to learn all over again.

I just googled "free doll quilt pattern" and found quite a few. Im just going to try one of those first since they seemed fairly simple. I am not sure where the rest of the ladies get their quilt patterns....and just pick out some fabric and away you go!!! :D

JOIN!! It is fun and exciting to see what you will get. I was a bit nervous also, but that is me. I need to get out of my shell. I feel the same way when we have show n tell at our guild. I feel inferior to the other quilters. I guess that is a trait I have always had and it is SOOOO hard to change.

I signed up for the Oct doll quilt swap and it's my first time. I feel kinda as you do, but figure it the person I send my quilt to doesn't like it, they can stick it in a dark closet to chase away the bugs...
