    I do the same thing. I hate in when the iron spews out a stream of water and steam.

    lol I use both at times, I also use a light starch especially on all the washed fabric to give it stability, even have used a damp pressing cloth. Sometimes you just get that one stubborn wrinkle that doesn't want to go away! LOL

    I've had to many log cabins get stretched by steam irons while at retreats, etc. Tricky pressing those blocks with steam. So, my rule is no water in my iron unless I'm ironing a recently washed large piece of yard goods before cutting.

    darn, i gave the kids my iron several years ago. . .now i guess ill have to go buy another! and an ironing board, sigh

    I use steam but after seeing this it might be better with dry iron and spray bottle

    Dry iron. If I need more oomph, I spritz with water, if I need MORE oomph, I use homemade Best Press.
