Do you ever have a jinxed project?

Yes, I'm trying to finish one now. Finally I'm at the point of working on the borders and am so glad to have finished the main part of the quilt. I've never had such a struggle any time throughout my quilting history. Can't be done soon enough as far as I'm concerned. Now if the pieced borders would only cooperate.

Saw this thread and initially thought - not really - no need to respond. Well! I've been quilting with a 14 year old all week. And she's not the problem! We've been working on BOM's from our LQS that she, her mom and I are all doing. She managed to not get a couple of hers done so I said I'd help her these last couple of weeks before school starts. I think we did the same block 3 times yesterday and today. Used the wrong fabric for the center of the quilt; put star points on backwards; put triangles on wrong. I can't tell you how many times we ripped out this thing and started over. And I was the one doing all the layout and pinning. Geez! Thankfully it's finally done and we can move on to her last year's blocks still to be done.

Thought I'd update this. I've now managed to complete 5 blocks. I'm only doing 1 each day and am taking it very slowly. I'm still making the occasional mistake, but seem to have almost overcome the jinx! But don't think I'll look back on the making of this quilt with any pleasure!
