I'm usually later than I want to be in completing them, so I usually take pics and give them to their recipients. There have been a few I wish I could have admired more before they left. :)

If I make one for someone special, then I give it to him/her when I finish. BUT if I just make a quilt with noone in mind, then I keep it, feel it, look at it and enjoy. My daughter says my quilts are like children, I have to keep them for awhile before I can let them go.......

That happens to me, too. My family members will see what I'm working on or have completed and "that would be just perfect in my living room, bedroom, etc" and away it goes. I have made three bow tucks in the past two weeks my DDs and DGDs just had to have them. I just finished a woodland wall hanging and my DGS really wanted it I gotta confess, I love it! It's the best compliment and I know everything I make will be cherished :-) :)

I shipped mine out so fast last week that I didn't get a picture of it completed. I finished it at 4:45 a.m. and was ready to go to deliver it at 9:00 after a few hours sleep and a bath. Luckily, I wasn't driving. I need to have my daughter e-mail me a pic - or two - one of the quilt and one of her with her quilt. I deliver prayer quilts as soon as they are finished in case they are needed. That's all I've made so far.

My quilts are mostly baby/lap size simply because I love beautiful fabrics to sew and machine quilt, and family members just aren't "quilt crazy". My projects are usually bought or given to fellow quilters who appreciate my work, in exchange for more fabric, or sold occasionally on EBay. A day is not complete without a few hours sewing/piecing/trying new designs.

Mine usually leave fairly quickly for the recipient. But that's usually because it's a gift for a set occasion that I finish RIGHT before the occasion :D :D

They have to go fast or they don't go at all...I sit and look at them and get too attached. =)

Most of my quilts are gifts or donations quilts. I finished one for a new baby and was getting ready to send it off to the happy mom, and my husband came in and asked if we really had to send it away, cause he liked it so much. I was so surprised and pleased that he wanted to keep it! I said of course we can keep it, then I went on a "crazy train" for a couple weeks making a new one to send to the baby. I have one now, in my UFO pile, that I must do next. It's for us, and it keeps getting put to the back of the line!

I take photos of all I do, and write a little about them in my scrapbook. This is because I have 2 quilts from my Grandmothers, and wish they had done the same. I have so many questions for them, and they've both been gone for many years.
