Do you have to have special software to download embroidery designs in a PES format?

I just purchased an Ellisomo and they told me that all I had to do was download the design take it to my Ellisomo and it would be able to read it. I tried that yesterday and I can't find a place to see if after I plug in the flash drive.

Do I need to go out and buy a program to make this work on my computer to even see the designs on the computer?

I don't know anything about what you have... I have a Singer and you can't even open the software without the machine being connected and turned on. I think you should have some software to make your computer and machine communicate, unless your machine has a builtin computer.

They told me that all I have to do was download it and plug it info the Ellisomo (by Babylock) and it would work. There seems to be something I don't know at this point.

At one time I had a Brothers and had that software, but when I traded it in and gave the software to them, dummy me,
never figured I would ever get into another embroidery machine at the time.

Google embird.com Yes, it works with all machines.. Has to be ordered on line but tech support is great. You download the software. It comes from a foreign country. I believe in Scandinavia. I have been very satisfied. Does all I need to do.

Give your dealer a call. I don't have any software for my Brother 4000D and it is the same machine. I just download from internet to the stick, making sure it is not in a zip file, put the stick in the machine and sew it out. Never had a problem. The dealer will probably have a eaiser way to explain it to you.

So you have to save the file as a non zip file, right.

It shows both ways on the screen when you are buying it.

Yes, when I purchase designs from Embroidery Library I always have them email in no zip. Then I can just load it and off I go. Good Luck, You may check the Embroidery Library for designs, they are very reasonable and very good co. to do business with.
