Considering the cost of fabric here (my LQS averages $25 per metre) I shop mainly in small quantities of quarter yard lengths if I really want it. Otherwise I wait for specials on blenders and co-ordinates.

I am prepared to pay the price if it is for a special project.

Hey, it's my only vice. I don't even look at the price. If I want it, it's mine. Fortunately, kids are grown, I'm retired, hubby has his own hobby, so why not?

My price limit is what the local quilt shop charges, however, I rarely buy anything unless it's on sale. I shop on line and in store and look for good deals. I also shop thrift stores. The only time I really SPLURGED was in Italy. I just cringe when I have to pay full price for fabric or clothes.

I am a bargain shopper. But, if I find something I just can't live without and it's pricey I'll buy it. It doesn't happen very often though.

Those of us who live in Canada regularly have to pay double the amount that you do in the States. That being the case, I would have to absolutely love a fabric to pieces before I would go above $20 a metre. We just drool when we hear that you guys get good fabric at less than $6 a yard at times. The regular price for good quilter's cotton here is $15-$17 a metre. Now you know why I NEVER throw anything out!

I will not go beyond ten dollars a yard and if I am buying for the back of a quilt I usually look for the 116 or around there and it is usually 15 dollars a yard.

Has anyone ever ordered from Marshall's Drygood? They have ery good prices and also carry wide fabric for quilt backs.
