Yep, I know the feeling. I try to do one simple project a month and it doesn't have to be a large one, could be miniature, just as long as it's easy. It helps me to keep from being in a rut.

YES! It makes me feel like I get more accomplished in a year if I make a couple of easy ones along the way. :)

Yes - I will often make an easy/quick quilt or wall hanging in between the more complicated and intricate quilts. It's a nice break and gives me some time to think about and plan the next big project.

I have been quilting a few years but consider myself a confident beginner. The more I learn, much of it here from you ladies, the more I have began to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of many simple blocks. After piecing an intricate, mostly PP project, I often make a simple one as an in-between just to please my eye - pretty colors or fabrics. Being more confident now I don't even have to prove anything to myself by stitching the most difficult pattern I can find to get frustrated over. Keeps my fingers and brain nimble.

good grief, without the simple, no-brainers, and little "quicky" projects, we would all burn out...

Some of the simple quilts are the most striking.

Ditto! I also think some fabrics look much better in simpler quilts. :)

I like to alternate between challenging and simple. I'd never finish a project if it was the same ol' complicated block over and over and over.

I like to do crazy patch blocks in between other quilts,,,,, its a good 'brainless' block and it relaxes me, then I go back and work on the tricky stuff once again

I usually make these quick quilts out of scraps or donated fabric so it is a bonus quilt all around.
