Do you just need to do an easy one sometimes?

And I'm going in the opposite direction...After quilting for 3 yrs and really just doing my own thing and mostly easy stuff...applique and easy patchwork I'm going into serious stuff...I was whipping out quilts every 3 days they were so easy.
So I want to focus on specific things I joined the 2 BOM "houses and stars"...Then on another site I'm doing a Civil War Quilt...No more fun for me only traditiional stuff for awhile.

I make up kits for simple quilt designs when I need a *creativity break*. This serves two purposes - first, just the cutting and putting these kits into zip-type bags for later use is relaxing. Then second, when I need another break, I pull one of these kits out and sew up the simple design. Easy is good!
I usually make kits for 4-patches with solid alternate blocks, rail fence or just strip quilts with a focus fabric. I usually donate these quilts to children's charities.

One should always keep simple, mindless sewing handy, like "leaders & enders", 2 1/2" blocks, selvages, or foundation piecing at the ready. Producing something, anything, in a small amount of time makes you feel like you are accomplishing something. If I work for a long, long time on just one project, I get discouraged and never have anything to "Sew & Tell".

I always have strips ready to work on a log cabin quilt. I find that when I get tired of working on something, or just one of those days when I need a mindless "something to work on" that the log cabin fits my mood exactly.

I try to switch things around. Challenge myself trying new or harder projects, then set back and do a 'no brain-er' (but even those you need to keep your brain ON  - ask me how I know)
Yes, we need to switch thing around to keep our creative juices flowing.
