do you keep a quilting journal?

My avatar is a miniature quilt made up of a "million" logs. It is a kit called "Lil Bits Diamond Log Cabin" by Cyndi Edgerton. It is paper pieced log cabin pattern. Lots of work! But it turned out well.

I have started to keep one lately. Which is good because I am still new to quilting. It has the name, date, when finished and for whom. I also have swatches of fabric. BUT I didn't take picture of all of them and I should. Since they motsly went to friends I'll take a tip from someone else who wrote and get a picture with the recipient. Thant's a great idea.

I don't have a journal or scrapbook.. yet. My dd scrapbooks and she is going to help me set up a quilting scrapbook while she is off from school during the Christmas break. I have digital photos of all my quilts... and dates and such...and I am making notes about them... I even have some scraps of fabric from some of them to include. Barb C.

I take pictures of everything I make. I have yet to put them in an album or a scrapbook. I love scrapbooking and used to scrapbook pretty often so more than likely mine will be a scrapbook. Maybe, I'll get started on that soon. LOL.

I like that idea! We got a flash drive when we bought our computer (it came with it) but we gave it to our daughter so that she could use it in her nursing studies. She uses it a lot & I couldn't think of how I'd need it. Guess I'll have to get another one for myself!! :D She should be graduating Dec. 12th & I'm so excited for her & proud of her for all her hard work!!!

I love to scrapbook so I'll be keeping a scrapbook of all my quilts (hark at her, only finished 1 quilt top so far, getting a bit ahead of myself I think :D )
I have taken photos at different stages of completion (mainly so I can check order of blocks incase I get 'helped' by DS1 & 2 :-o ) and kept notes of how long it has taken me and swatches of fabric etc

YES - I purchased a photo book that had 6 pockets per page. In the 1st pocket I insert a picture of the finished quilt. The remainder pages I insert small patches of each fabric used so I not only get a better visual of each finished project but I also have some small pieces of the fabric in case I would ever need to make a repair.

Yes I keep a journal and take Poleroid (sp) pictures of my quilts. I keep track of how long it takes me to do and what else is going on at the time :!: Been doing that since I started quilting, about 5-6 years ago, so it's almost like a diary--fun to look back on and see what was going on then :-)

I have a big nootbook with pages all set up for all the information. Nothing in though.
I have all my pics on computer all over the place , someday I will get around to making a spiecal folder just for the quilt pics. I guess my best album is right here when I post the pic and info. I guess I need to get organized too lol
