If I'm going to make a wall hanging, I have some idea of where it'll go, because color choice may be determined by that. For example, the wall hangings I have planned for my sewing room use a specific palette of colors, so that they'll complement the colors on the walls and tie them together. But if it's a more seasonal wall hanging, that can go anywhere. ;)

I am with most of the others, sometimes I do and sometimes I just fall in love with something I have to have.

I rarely make wall hangings. I only have one in my home...in the BR. When I make a quilt, I know who the recipient is in advance.

I do purchase material having no clue what I'm going to do with it though. Hence the stash I've accumulated!

so far I know where the quilt is going before I start, as i pick the colors for whomever is getting it. that may change as i get more experieced and do more.

I make things because I enjoy it. If I can use it, great. If not, I find someone who can. :)
