I make whatever I like. I can always hang it over the back of a chair or find somewhere to display it. I never know where it's going.

I rarely have plans for what I'm making until I'm finished. Same goes for fabric. I buy what I love and then use it when it has a place or sometimes the quilt is made around the fabric.
No matter what- it's FUN!! :D

I never plan ahead. I make it because I like it and if I finish it (sometimes I don't finish right away) I see where it fits, if I should just sell it or give it away. Sometimes I make things just to practice a technique. Sometimes I hate it half way into it.

I am that way too. See a fabric that catches my eye and buy it. Then I have to go through the "what matches it" stage, then comes the what am I going to make, then the decision to give it away or keep it. What am I going to do with it? Who Knows. I am going to love it!

Both ways I bet. Some things you just HAVE to make and will figure it out when you are done; others are need. I sew and sometimes I just buy fabric because I have to have it, I frame it and hang it or use for whatever comes along and other times, I buy with purpose.

i just make it because I like it, have no idea what I will do with them when they are done. if we thought that far ahead, not too many of us would make any more quilts or wall hangings.
