I do both, but the majority of the time I will see something I like, put it on my "Roundtoit" List, which should be renamed the "Maybe someday List", but many of the quilts I make, wall, bed, table runners, placemats, etc. I give away, and sometimes sell.

I do quilt because I like playing with the colours, the shapes or trying new techniques, My quilts all found a new home when family and friends come to my house and sincerely love one, I don't say a word , wait till it is finished and then surprise them. No hassle of finding the right pattern or shade for me,no disapointment, no pressure!

I have a "need" but it usually really isn't for a quilt or a wall hanging, its for the joy of creating somthing that to me is beautiful, and hopefully beautiful to others too. I love the fabrics color, and the way they feel, I love the way I can see the project grow - that's pretty much my "need".
I guess I always need gifts too, so that takes care of another need. ;-)
