LyndaOH that is a very striking purple mock up of a quilt. I can see myself even making it, and maybe soon. Many thanks for using EQ7 to help Sparkling Lake with her problem. I have never seen that block before either.
    Thanks again

An easy way,for beginners, is to draw it up on grid paper and just remember that you have to add a quarter of an inch to the sides of each piece for seam allowances.

It looks like you could break it down a little further as well, it might make it simpler to understand. seeing it as a whole quilt ( I love the purple) with the secondary pattern, I could see a nine patch, then a nine patch using the rail block and Half Square Triangles with the smaller 9 patch in the center. It would be easier than using all the triangles on the edge of each block. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Cut (4) 3-1/2" Blue/White blocks (Cut two of these in half (Not diagonally) for Blue/White block surrounding center 9-patch)
Cut (4) 3-1/2" Red blocks (Cut two of these in half for Red/White block surrounding center 9-patch)
    Cut (2) 3-1/2" Green blocks
Cut (6) 3-1/2" White blocks and cut in half diagonally one time
Cut (1) 3-1/2" block and cut it diagonally twice -- these are the four little corners of main block
Cut (1) 18" 1.5" strip of white for the 9-patch and four surrounding 'sandwich' blocks
The 9-patch center block is made from 1.5" squares - use picture to determine how many of each color

Press, do not 'iron' back and forth to help keep your blocks square. Good luck!

That was a new block to me. Thanks, Sparkling Lake, for asking about it and also thanks to LyndaOH for doing it in EQ and sharing it with us!

How sweet of you, Lynda to use yout EQ7 and set this up for Sparklin Lake. Everyone is always trying to help each other out on this board, that's what makes it so unique.
