Unhappy Do you know where I can find a stitch plate?---HELP

I have a Bernina DCE 2500 serger that I purchased before I became ill about 10 years ago for $1,800. I have just recently begun to use it over the last 2 years. Made several pillowcases and a quilt top. The pin on the needle plate broke and now Bernina is not making it and it is unavailable. I have called everywhere I can find from NY to Calif. Can't find it. Does anyone no who may have one in their repair part stock?
This is the second very expensive item I have purchased that was Bernina that they no longer support. Last one I will ever buy!!!! Other companies support their products.
    Thanks

    I cannot help.

It is so sad that in a short time that your serger is obsolete, especially when spending that much money. Companies keep coming out with the new and improved models, thinking nothing of the 'great' machines they already made. GRR

I don't have Berninas, but here are few websites that are worth calling if you haven't tried them yet.

    www.sewingmachinesplus.com
    www.sewingpartsonline.com
    www.allbrands.com
    www.amapparelsupply.com

    Good luck

I think I would contact the shops in your area that do repair. Maybe they could put it back together. This could be a shop that works on metal parts. I mention this because my brother works with making metal parts for his race cars, and he has made things I have needed for my sewing needs.

There is a yahoo group called "Berninathirtysomethings" that discusses the vintage machines. There are at least two Bernins techs on there that are very good about knowing where to find scarce parts for discontinued machines. Give them a try.

Have you checked ebay? There are several needle plates for Bernina sergers on there.
