Another poster said that this quilt was Shabby Chic ...

I'd never heard the term til then, so honestly, do not understand what the categorization is?

"Shabby Chic" is a trademarked term for a particular look. Best way to get an idea of what it means is to look at their official site: http://www.shabbychic.com

Thanks! Now I have a better idea what it is ... didn't realize it was a trademark and just thought it was a style category.

I made a Shabby Chic quilt top. It's still just a top right now since I have a long haired black cat and she thinks half the bed is hers. This is the only picture I have of it and this is before the borders went on.

The fabrics are from the Moda Seaside Rose collection and the Paris Flea Market collection.

Well, guess what... in September one of the fabric manufacturers will be making a line of OFFICIAL Shabby Chic fabrics. Not look-alikes, they will be designed by Rachel Ashwell herself.

I'm excited to hear this as I love shabby chic! I've made some totes and a couple quilts with those colors. When I think of shabby chic, I think of muted colors, lots of roses.

When I got done quilting this I thought it looked Shabby Chic - at least that's what I am calling it in my head. What do you all think?

I love what I think is Shabby Chic.

Wow! I thought shabby chic was just a coined phrase for a style of decor......didn't realize it was a trademark either.

I like the color way of shabby chic, but I do not like the distressed furniture or frayed edges. I grew up poor and have spent my whole life trying to get rid of things that look worn out to me and every time I see that white furniture with the distressing I see poverty.
