My condo was done in pale floral/"shabby" decor....some antiques, but none of it actually shabby. Here's the quilt I made for my tester bed during that time, all floral prints, 90% from my stash. Have shown it here several times, actually.

I love Shabby Chic and can't wait for the "official" fabric. I think anything by Robin Pandolph is beautiful.

I like Shabby Chic, but it can be taken to an extreme. I use a lot of her ideas and sort of mix it up with all the rest of my stuff. A quilt in Shabby Chic would/should be quietly flowery and sweet looking, at least that's MHO. No bright colors. I made my DD one once for her first apartment. It wasn't a particular pattern, but just followed the idea of large soft colored flowers like Cabbage Roses. If it looks faded it's right, I think.

So funny. I was going to say I grew up with the shabby look and haven't quite made it to Chic! LOL

I love shabby chic, Kaffe Fassett, farmhouse and eclectic, and almost every kind of decor It's hard to pick just one. I found a book at the library this week called "a perfectly kept house is the sign of a misspent life". The book makes you feel like being a hoarder is OK. Every time my husband goes out of town he never knows what he's going to come home to lol!

To me shabby chic is cottagie and I like that look. I haven't made one yet but would like to for "ME!"
