Chevron stripes have been around along time. I have a feeling they will be considered a "fad" and in 5 or 10 years we'll look back and say "Those were SO 2012-2013! Yuck".

I'm wondering how they'd work as binding. I'm really liking using stripes as binding...looks pretty neat on my charity quilts.

I've made a scrappy chevron quilt--for charity. I'm not sure what I think of the chevron fabrics. I tend to like pretty--but my mom made me an afghan in a chevron design when I was about 20...it was nice. I think I could find a use for them but am not sure why "everyone" is so enthralled.

I have to add that a man chose the chevron quilt--so maybe could be a great "manly" design. Sometimes it is hard to think of something simple but nice for guys.

There is a bit of it in my quilt. I think it is a good accent fabric.

Chevrons are trending right now. In our area people make pockets for their T shirts out of chevron fabric-- that's the big 'thing'--just pockets. I don't get it at all.

I like them but I generally avoid prints where I have to make sure they're straight so I haven't bought any.

Chevrons aren't my favorite, but they do make a striking contrast to the more "organic" prints I tend to like. When I first saw them in the stores a year or two ago, it made me think of clothes from the 60s and 70s. Remember Charlie Brown and his signature shirt?

I'd love to see some photos.

I was in a local quilt shop in New Orleans this spring and they were REALLY pushing chevrons. The colors were bright but flat, and I couldn't figure out what to do with them. Maybe trim out one of those Swoon quilts that are all over the internet?

I like some of the chevron fabric. I made this littel dress for my DGD with a bright chevron print and polk a dot print. It has matching pink dot panties under it.

" i am increasingly disenchanted with both the "modern" colour story and the cutsey wootsey, slap dash quick pieced quilts."

I think there is probably a way of saying that you don't like Chevrons and the currently popular colors without being rude and condescending about a style of quilting which many others do enjoy.

There's room for a wide array of styles and tastes in the world of quilting, and it's actually a good thing for more traditional quilters to have so many younger "modern" quilters interested in the hobby -- it keeps manufacturers making fabric, stores (both online and brick and mortar) in business. A quickly pieced, less technically advanced quilt being popular does nothing to detract from the expertise and time you personally invest in a quilt -- so, please avoid saying things that discourage newer quilters and make them feel "less than."
