Do You Notify Online Company if your Yard Was only 34 inches?

I would certainly let them know. And honestly how many of us would notice if we were short just a bit? But it all adds up if they do it continously.
It certainly makes the rest of us more aware, and to check our fabrics.

If you don't let them know, the books will not balance. After all, who would be pocketing the excess at the end of the day?The owner would want to know everything is accurate and the customer should not feel gypped.

Absolutely! They need to know the person(s) in their cutting department are not measuring correctly.
If they measured all customers' orders in that manner - and they have a very large clientele or sales volume - the company would turn a very tidy profit on the backs of customer losses!
They should at the very least offer to replace your order or give you a credit.

I agree you should let them know and they should at least give you a refund for
the 1/2 yard of material and the $5(if it is not a handling fee) or a store credit!
Thanks for the info... I measured for some and they were 37-39 inches so I
quit checking...I am off to check my recent order!

Wow if you need those two extra inches for a specific project you would be in a jam!
To me it would be like asking for a five pound roast and when you got home realized they had given you a three pound but were still charged for the five pound roast!
That shop needs to make amends!
You by no means are making waves, just asking for what you have already paid for. Evidently they need to add two inches on to their yard stick!

I would definitely let them know! Maybe someone there doesn't know what a yard is! You know how the person in the fabric dept will usually add a "tad" to your yardage so when you tear to straighten, you'll still have a full yard ... well, I got a guy one time in the fabric dept of a large "everything" store, and he did not know how to cut yardage ... I had to explain it!
