How long do you let the quilt dry after you spray base, and does it make the quilt stiff?

I just ordered pinmoors, looks like a great idea- I don't really like the environmentally bad aspect of the 505 spray, even tho I used it once. I was taught to baste, but have used the tacking machine, too. I did not like all the little plastic dealies all over when I got done and cut them off- they also seam to end up where you don't need them.

I use the quilter's curved safety pins and a Kwik Klip to close them. The tagger gun's needle leaves big holes in the quilt. Spray basting is a no-no asthmatics.

The last baby quilt I made I used tailor tacks. That is just taking 2/3 stitches in the same place without knots. It's almost as fast as pinning & they dont get in the way. I did take large basting stitches around the edge.
