pinmoors are a new type of holding your pins. You don't need to use safety pins, just a straight pin and then a pinmoor to hold it

I use large safety pins and remove them as i come to them. Those tagger guns can make little holes in clothing. I've always worried they could do the same thing to my quilts.

I lookede at this and I am going to put this one my wish list. I have a bad time pinning and I have COPD so spray is a limited option.

I tried the tagger gun a few years back. Did not like it...too much give, did not really hold the layers together, they shifted.
Also, it left big holes in the fabric. I only quilt small pieces so I use spray baste or pins with pinmors.

I use Pinmoors. They are small foam type buds. The idea is that you pin your sandwich together with long pins and pierce the pinmoor on to the sharp end. You then quilt your sandwich and you are able to sew over the pins without having to remove them first as you would with normal quilting pins. I found the Pinmoors on this site some time ago.

Cover the surface under your quilt with newspaper and throw an old sheet on the floor. I recently saw a video which featured spray basting a quilt on a wall covered with newspapers and some kind of tile. I want to go back to the video and see what kind of tile she used. I thought I didn't have wall space in my house to do this, but I think I may have found it. I'll let you know if I find out what kind of tile it was.
